1. Who is responsible
Analyst Newspaper, established in the European Union, is the controller of the personal data described here under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For any privacy question or request, contact our editor, Andersson Iyke, at andersson@analystnewspaper.com.
2. What we collect and why
Newsletter sign-ups. If you join our mailing list we store your email address, the date you signed up, whether you confirmed it and, if you leave, the date you unsubscribed. We use it only to send the briefing you asked for. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.
Server and security logs. Our servers and hosting providers receive your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use this to deliver pages, protect the site from abuse (for example, limiting repeated requests from one address) and fix errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).
Read counts. To count how often each story is read, your browser keeps a small note saying you have read that story today, so each reader counts once a day. The note holds no identifier, never leaves your device and is not used to track you. We keep only a total per story per day, which is not personal data. Legal basis: legitimate interest in knowing which stories are read.
We do not run advertising, sell or rent personal data, profile readers or make automated decisions about you.
4. Who else processes your data
We use service providers to run the site: cloud hosting and database providers, a content delivery and DNS provider, and, once our newsletter launches, an email delivery provider. They process data only on our instructions under data processing agreements. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

5. Transfers outside the EU
Some of our providers are based in, or store data in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an EU adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for certified providers) or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
Email addresses: while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe we keep your address only marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you again by mistake, and we delete it entirely if you ask. Server and security logs: for the limited period set by our hosting providers, unless needed to investigate an attack. Daily read totals per story contain no personal data and are kept indefinitely.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before.
Email andersson@analystnewspaper.com. We reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work; the European Data Protection Board lists them all.
8. Children
The site is a general news service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell subscribers by email about significant changes. See also our terms of use.
